What benefits does CareLink Advantage provide to the Health Authority?
Combine CareLink Advantage with home support and you can delay the move to the next level of care for clients, allowing them to age in place. This results in significant “cost avoidance” savings. Some Health Authorities are also experiencing “real dollar” cost savings/leveraging as they reduce actual home support hours by adding CareLink Advantage to a new or existing care plan. CareLink Advantage dramatically reduces caregiver stress and burnout which significantly impacts on the ability for seniors to age in place. Yes, we work with Health Authorities who have added CareLink Advantage to their basket of services. We are currently working with several other provinces who are at various stages of adding CareLink Advantage to their funded services.
Will/does CareLink Advantage increase the workload for Health Care Professionals?
Your colleagues have told us quite the opposite. Clients with CareLink Advantage in their care plan actually decreases their workload. Here’s how. Family members worry about the safety of their loved one when they are alone in their home. This results in stress and perhaps burn out…which leads to demands for increased services. But when family members know exactly what is happening at the house with respect to falls, medication compliance, eating, wandering…24 hours a day…then they are not worried or racked with guilt. They know Mom or Dad are safe. Therefore, no more frantic calls placed by families to their Health Care Professional looking for additional care hours or movement to the next level of care. How does CareLink Advantage support the client to age in place?
When a senior does not feel safe in their home, they start looking for more home support or a move to the next level of care. How does CareLink Advantage support the caregiver?
Caregivers need to know that their loved one is OK…every moment of the 24-hour day! This becomes especially important when their loved one is home alone. With CareLink Advantage in place, they know that if something is not right with their loved one, the system will automatically reach out and find them right away, no matter where they are. Appropriate response/action can be taken right away. It makes it easier for them to take better care of their loved one. This greatly reduces caregiver anxiety, which results in reduced caregiver stress and burnout.
How does CareLink Advantage work?
- We do an assessment with the caregiver and determine what concerns they have for their loved one, and what their unique living environment is.
- We install the CareLink Advantage system quickly and easily as it is wireless.
- We assist the family in setting up the list of those to be contacted should the system need to reach out to them.
- We work with the family to program “notifications” around areas of concern they may have such as wandering out of the home, forgetting to take medications, and fall detection.
- There are no requirements of the client, they just continue to live their life as they are now.
- The family continue to live their life, knowing that if there is anything wrong, the system will automatically contact them and/or the other caregivers right away. Notifications can be sent via text, email or phone call. Notifications are delivered simultaneously to all caregivers via their preferred chosen method of receiving them.
- Video can be installed to determine the urgency of any “notifications” or simply to look in and make certain all is well with your loved one.

Is CareLink Advantage available privately and directly to the public?
In short, yes. CareLink Advantage is available for installation privately and publicly across the entire country.
My client has no local family, can I still use CareLink Advantage?
With CareLink Advantage, distance really does disappear. This is one of the situations where CareLink Advantage really shines! It is effective whether the family lives across town or across the country. Notifications are received in real time no matter where you are. Then a quick call to a neighbour, another family member, or even the ambulance can be made from anywhere! Does the client or their family/caregiver need to be tech savvy?
The beauty of CareLink Advantage is that it is very easy to use. The installed equipment continues to operate with no client or family intervention needed. The web-based dashboard and dedicated app to access the history or view live video, are logically designed, so for those not comfortable with technology they will find it easy to navigate. Live technical support from CareLink Advantage is always available, 24/7.
